WeddingsChristmas2016I know I said this last year however I am going to say it again ‘what a year it has been’ with over 100 weddings under our belt this year, it goes without saying that it has been busy, emotional and an absolutely fantastic year all rolled into one and I have loved every minute of it!

Twelve years into my wedding planning career and I can honestly say that no two weddings are the same, they may have some of the same trends, styles and ideas, however it is the couple themselves and their family and friends, of course, that make it completely individual and different to any other and that is why I stand by the motto of ’29 Glasgow will deliver a wedding as individual as you are’!

Talking of trends, some of the big hitters this year have been, photo booths (these never get old), magic mirrors, candy carts/tables, flower walls have made an appearance a few times also and what a beautiful back drop they make, illuminated letters, which fit beautifully in our gorgeous Supper Club with its rustic untreated wooden floors and exposed brick walls! Centre pieces have changed slightly, I must say most of our couples have opted for our chic candelabras that are included in all of our packages, some still opting for a florist to add a little something to the candelabra which I have seen change this year from the big flower ring on the candelabra to most subtle decorations with gypsophila wrapped around the stem (one of my favourite looks)

Dresses and fashion – this is one of my favourite parts of the wedding, seeing our bride in her dress for the first time, I often try to guess what type of dress she will be wearing (I am usually very wrong) my brides often tell me that they have even surprised themselves with the style of dress they have chosen, however when trying it on for the first time knew it was the dress for them! For the boys kilts have dominated this year; however some very smart suits have made an appearance also.

As 2017 draws to a close and only a few more weddings remaining, we are looking ahead to 2018, which is already shaping up to be a very busy year and myself and the wedding team are very much looking forward to every 2018 wedding, more beautiful sunny afternoon drinks receptions out on our roof top marquee and cosy winter wedding ceremonies in our beautiful Supper Club.

We have lots of exciting things coming up in 2018 with our very own Wedding Open day on Sunday 21st January between 12-3pm and we are delighted to reveal that we will exhibiting at The Scottish Wedding Show on 24th & 25th February!

I would like thank every one of our 2017 couples for allowing us to be part of their wedding planning and special day itself, it has been an absolute pleasure and thank you for all of the fantastic feedback and reviews. See what some of our couples have had to say here

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing you next year!
